Bart Turner to Speak at the Southeastern Brownfields Conference in Birmingham, Alabama on September 27, 2018

On September 27, 2018, Bart Turner will speak at the Southeastern Brownfields Conference in Birmingham, Alabama.  The Southeastern Brownfields Conference is a forum for developers, real estate professionals, environmental professionals, state environmental agencies, tribes, local governments, non-profit organizations, and community members interested in brownfield redevelopment, and is the result of a joint effort between the ALBFA, the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Bart has been involved with over fifty (50) brownfield redevelopment projects on the buy and sell side throughout the Southeast, North Carolina, Missouri, Iowa, Pennsylvania and Texas. These projects have involved structuring transactional requirements around brownfields enrollment and obtaining regulatory concurrence, negotiating risk-based cleanup targets, allocating risk and liability protections, and related environmental escrow and economic incentive considerations.

Bart’s session, titled “Converting Brown into Green: Capitalizing on Brownfield Abatements in Alabama,” will focus on the Brownfield Abatements and Incentives available to qualifying Voluntary Cleanup Program projects, which is a unique component of the Alabama Voluntary Cleanup Program as compared to voluntary cleanup programs in other states.
